Live At The Creative Cafe - Featuring Andy Beck
Thanks to the likes of Cody Gene (Cody Gene Media), in recent weeks musicians and audiences around the world have come together Live At The Creative Cafe to enjoy all manner of music live-streamed to their homes for an earful of something different during these strange times.
One such musician, who has been a great help right from the get-go is Andy Beck. This well-versed Brit has delved deep into the roots of Celtic music across the U.K. and happens to have a special knack for fun, quirky and even calming and beautiful Celtic tunes of his own, under the name ‘Cale’. Not only an accomplished musician, Beck is also an author of a recently released work of fiction-meets-self-help ‘Folk Springs Eternal’ - a musical journey of a folk/punk band, trying to find their own place in the world, set in the Canadian Maritimes.
I had the privilege of chatting with Andy online just before his dinner and my lunch (he being in England and I in Canada). For a couple of hours, we dug into each other’s musical influences, how we got our starts in music, where music has led us and how Paddy’s day has affected us both in our own musical ways.
While I will be posting our interview this coming week, I thought it was important to feature Andy as one of many musicians to lend their talents to the Creative Cafe.
