If you’re a writer (or looking to try your hand at being one) and you’re looking to take part in River Run Theatre’s first full theatrical production, then ‘The Acts of God’ is for you.
We are putting out an open call for scene submissions for this production of vignette theatre created by Duncan Griffiths and Anthony Leclair. This show has the potential to be the ultimate mix of comedy, tragedy, heresy and piety.
The premise and the plan? Imagine a scene (no more than 10min long) in any location, with any type of characters (no more than 5), in any time period…and the only creative stipulation? Jesus must appear in the scene at some point. He could be sitting there the whole time, he could just walk through the background, be working miracles, making wine, hanging out with Mary and the boys, hanging out on the cross…it’s all up to you. Scenes can be dramatic, comedic, faithful, atheistic, agnostic…again, it’s up to you!
Regulations
Scenes must be no more than 10min long
There must be no more than 5 characters in each scene
Jesus must appear at some point in the scene
Up to 5 scene submissions per person
Submit scenes as PDF or Word Doc to: leclairstudios@gmail.com with “RE: Acts of God scenes” in the subject line.
Submission deadline: February 17th
If any of your scenes are selected to be used for the show, they will be added to ‘The Acts of God’ compendium so that future productions of the show can interchange scenes from the collected works.
A submission of a scene or scenes is a granting of permission for Leclair Studios and River Run Theatre to use the submitted scenes in this and future productions of ‘The Acts of God’.
You will be given credit on our social media and in our programs every time one of your scenes is used in a production of ‘The Acts of God’. You will also be given two tickets to any run of this production that includes your scene(s).
