Summertime
Golden embers slowly burn
Marshmallow mouths await their turn
Friendly faces glow in the night
Guitars are strummed and all seems right
Skin is bronzed under sunshine rays
Listen to Jimi play his Purple Haze
Popcorn flies high in the air
Sparklers twirl through the county fair
Laying flat on a truck staring out to the sky
A dog licks your face and lays down by your side
Breakups and teardrops and passionate flings
Dancing through the rain and kissing on the swings
Riding the waves, getting buried in sand
Raising a lighter for Free Bird’s last stand
Time is forgotten so join the parade
Taste the sweet nectar of Summer under a tree in the shade
